The Inn itself is a place to explore ;In 2002, Phase 1 was completed of an active solar heated straw bale greenhouse, added to provide year-round cultivation of papayas and other tropical plants. On May, 2003, a 10kW Bergey wind turbine was completed to generate electricity for the homestead. A 680-watt photovoltaic (PV) system replaced a 480-Watt PV system, used to generate electricity from sunlight for use on the farm. The old 48-volt PV modules will be used to create a solar "recharging station" for the all-electric 1974 CitiCar to be used for local commuting. The farm and B&B is powered by 100 percent renewable energy and serves as an educational site for fossil-fuel free and "climate neutral" -- or carbon-neutral -- living, addressing affordable climate change and global warming solutions today, not someday in the future.
