the third largest city in Klickitat County, WA has a population of over 700 people. Lumber mill is still the main employer but high tech is moving in, loafers and chinos now outnumber caulk boots and torn bottom jeans. The city boasts several nice places to eat, and a wine bar. There is a boat launch and wind surfing site within walking distance of down town. One mile away and across the Columbia River is the Oregon city of Hood River with more of everything. Bingen offers Amtrax rail service so that it is possible to take the train, walk to our B&B and have a nice stay.
