Stanley is a small town of 1500 people nestled between the Massanutten and Blue Ridge Mountains. The picturesque Shenandoah Valley offers sweeping views of rolling hills, fields, cattle and farms. Stanley is just 10 minutes south of the more well known Luray and the famous Luray Caverns which are the largest caverns in the East.
Stanley offers horseback riding just 10 minutes away, a municipal swimming pool and canoeing on the Shenandoah River. Stanley is just 25 minutes from the entrance to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. Skyline Drive runs on top of the mountain with sweeping vistas on either side. There are wonderful hiking trails in the park for every level of hiker, beautiful waterfalls, deer and other wildlife. Beautiful mountain flowers and other flora make Shenandoah National Park a must see in this area. The Park is especially popular in October when the leaves turn gold, yellow and red.
There is a fine dining restaurant in Stanley or experience an old fashioned diner that is a favorite spot for the locals. Come and experience an old fashioned 4th of July parade and the Christmas parade in December. Small town spirit prevails in Stanley.
