The Houston House Bed & Breakfast has four spacious guest rooms each with private bath. Luxurious furnishings throughout the home date from 1830 through 1870. Guestrooms are complete with romantic fireplaces and amenities that include; coffee makers, specially brewed coffee, tea, robes, hairdryers, telephones, FM/AM alarms, cable TV, VCRs and a fine selection of classic period movies Located in beautiful, historic Gonzales, Texas, the house stands majestically in quiet surroundings within walking distance of the 135-year-old Town Square.

Click to see slideshow The Houston House is a 6,000 square foot mansion and has 5 bedrooms, 6 1/2 baths, eight working fireplaces, 2 interior staircases and an innkeeper's quarters. Formal rooms include the Parlor, Music room, Library, Dining room and Conservatory. The ceilings on the first floor are 14 feet high and are 12 feet high on the second story. The interior of the house is beautifully finished with original parquet floors of oak, mahogany and cherry. The woodwork is longleaf pine and includes towering pillars at the parlor entrance, pocket doors, a magnificent formal staircase with a suspended harp-stand and decorative paneling. Pressed tin and embossed cornice decorate the ceilings and frame the hand-painted mural over the parlor. The conservatory extends from the formal dining room through glass pocket doors and houses an enchanting variety of exotic plants and flowers.
