Dreaming by the River Bed and Breakfast is nestled in the woods, overlooking the Caney Fork River where it meets the Cumberland River. An old river road, lined with towering trees, provides a shady hiking trail for a quarter-mile along the banks of the Caney Fork River. There are areas of solitude and quite spaces to enjoy the river, pastoral, and woodland views. All 3 quest rooms have their own in-suite full baths and large closets. All are upstairs and accessed via the curved oak stairway. All have windows which look out on the river’s vistas, 2 with balconey, 2 with fireplace. Wireless Internet is available through-out. The Caney Fork River is an excellent trout fishing river between Center Hill Dam (25 miles) and Gordonsville (4 miles). Fishing in the deep waters by the Inn is typically for striped bass. Canoe rental is near the damn at Canoe Fork Outdoors, Rt. 1, Silver Point, TN 38582. 931-858-5222.The Cumberland River is just West of Gibbs Landing. Cordell Hull Dam is 7 miles (3 by water). Several public River Access ramps are available nearby, including one on the Carthage side of the old Ferry crossing, a mile away by road.
For shoppers: several antique stores in the Carthage/Gordonsville area, with many more in Lebanon (25 miles). Lebanon also has the Prime Outlet Mall plus chain (and local) restaurants beyond the 6 to 8 local restaurants nearby (also in Cookeville -30 miles).
The area abounds with State Parks, all unique, many with fishing, swimming, horseback riding, and beautiful hiking trails.
