Manzanita is a hidden gem of a peaceful, coastal village, half a mile off HWY 101. It has a beautiful, seven mile beach. At the south end is the Nehalem Bay State Park, with many birds, eagles, herons, pelicans and migratory birds. You can sit on seats and watch. At the north end of the beach is Neahkahnie Mountain, from which the view of the ocean and bay is world class. There are little shops and restaurants on the main street, but you can escape the crowds here. There is Manzanita Bed and Breakfast accommodation for every price range. For scenery, nothing can compare, the long beach and the bay. There are horse rentals here and kayak rentals in Wheeler. At low tide the beach is a paradise for walking from a Manzanita Bed and Breakfast, especially in the morning or evening. Then eat a huge breakfast or dinner with your appetite fresh from the sea breeze and exhilaration of the ocean and sandy beach! The sunsets are lovely. Come and stay before it is discovered! There is a golf course here also, close to a Manzanita Bed and breakfast, with lovely fresh air and sometimes elk eating the grass. Drive carefully as the deer wander around and sometimes they also have Bambi with them. If you enjoy nature, you will love Manzanita.
