Looking for a bed and breakfast inn? Come and see Oregon. One of the nicest places in this green state is the beautiful Mt. Hood area. The smallest town is Brightwood. We're a friendly community tucked along the Sandy River valley on the western side of 11,000 ft. Mt. Hood. Situated at about 1200 ft. elevation, in just 20 miles one reaches the Timberline Lodge, at 8500 ft. with glorious views of the peak just above. The hardy souls here enjoy the mountain weather and rural life. Winters in Brightwood are mild, with gorgeous grey days of rain, mist, and occasional snow that lasts a week or so. The skiers and 'boarders have several feet of snow on the peak, but the valley gets far less. In the sunny summers, we enjoy hikes on the hundreds of trails, and simple walks along the many rivers. Brightwood is rural residential, has a post office and mini-market, some auto repair places, and a few Brightwood bed and breakfast inns. We have a pub too, which features Slug Racing in August. Nothing is more exciting than racing 6-inch green or yellow banana slugs across the patio deck! Plenty of good restaurants are found in nearby Welches. There is also a golf course and horseback riding stable there. After a long, happy day of hiking, skiing, snowboarding, fishing, mushroom picking or other mountain activities, you will enjoy returning to the comfort of your Brightwood bed and breakfast. We love it here, and are certain that you will, too.
