This quietly elegant Boarding House, now called a Bed & Breakfast, has been a place of comfort, convenience, and relaxation for the working person since the 1890'sThis truly original Bed & Breakfast was never a Hotel; Guthrie had several prominent Hotels in the 1890's. The word Motel I do not think existed yet.In the Nineteen-Forties and Fifties we spent our nights at an Auto Court when traveling Route 66
The railroad workers, store clerks, and office workers who boarded here, called the Railroad House home.
The Railroad House Bed & Breakfast has a reminiscently Victorian decor. We have added our families railroad memorabilia and vintage family items but there is no need to tiptoe around in this house. We are still not a Hotel or Motel. We are a still a home. Take your shoes off, lounge in the parlor, pour a cup of coffee, you do not have to sneak cookies help yourself. Sit on the porch sip your coffee. The Koi in our pond will share the waterfall, so relax,escape, enjoy.
Our goal is for you to discover Guthrie. The Railroad House Bed & Breakfast is a place to exhale and create memories. We love it when our guests say, "we made ourselves right at home"
