Asheville, NC, lovely small city in Western NC, just off the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway where hiking, motorcycling, bicycling, motor touring and stunning views are all in ample supply. Visit Biltmore Estate - tour America's largest "home," visit the Winery onsite, dine in one of the many restaurants on property, stroll through one of the lovely gardens (designed by Olmstead, also known as the landscape architect for Central Park). Visit downtown Asheville with an abundance of wonderful local and eclectic Restaurants (many utilize a "local foods" ethic), shop for antiques, arts & crafts, and enjoy the nightlife with a vibe! Music, entertainment and special events are often a treat in downtown Asheville. Come in July for the largest street festival of the Southeast, "Bele Chere" a music-fest must see. The LEAF festival (Lake Eden Arts Festival) is held each May and November - another fabulous music fest. The Art Safari is also each April and November when local artists of the Weaverville area open their shops to tour, view and purchase local arts & crafts directly from the artisan. Visit the nearby charming towns of Black Mountain, Weaverville, Hendersonville, or Brevard, NC. Nearby colleges & Universities include UNC-Asheville, Warren Wilson College, Mars Hill College, Brevard College. Enjoy skiing on our little southern slopes in winter (Wolf Ridge and Cataloochie), spring in the Mountains is spectacular and summer temperatures are moderate. Fall foliage is incredible through out the mountains. Come visit anytime of the year!
