Lodi NY is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State on the East side of Seneca Lake. It features quiet country living with both farmland, Amish farms, vineyards and lake frontage on the deepest of the Finger Lakes. Lodi was a shipping hub for the region back when shipping was done by steamships and wagon. It has changed little since those days even though the ships no longer run up and down the lake. Today, the town of Lodi is home to several Bed and Breakfasts as well as a number of wineries. The Bed and Breakfasts in Lodi range from cabins and houses on the lakeshore to Victorian homes on the main road. Due to the wineries and fantastic views of the lake, weddings and wedding receptions are popular in Lodi. The hillside is of a unique shape in this area which leads to some ideal conditions for growing grapes, which then leads to great wine. The region is known for varietal wines like Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Catawba, and Delaware. Lodi is also home to an award winning brewery. The town forms the geographic center of three major wine trails (Seneca, Cayuga and Keuka) so it is literally in the middle of more than 80 wineries all within an hour or less drive. A wine region would be nothing without food and Lodi boasts some of the best restaurants in the region. So it is a great place to settle-in after a day of tasting wine. There are no hotels in Lodi so the place to stay is in one of the many bed and breakfasts. Even though the town is small, there is more to do in the area than just a one night stay will allow, so plan on staying 2-7 nights to be sure you don't miss out on what the area has to offer.
