Bed and Breakfast Inn Description

The Oaks Bed and Breakfast Hotel is named to reflect the cathedral of century-old oak trees that have been the hallmark of Jamestown’s West Third Street corridor for generations. Rich in history, the property upon which the hotel now sits was part of the original acreage purchased by City Founder James Prendergast in 1809 to create a settlement dedicated to timber milling.

Built by regionally well-known architect Raymond Freeburg in 1930, the lodging preserves many of the original home’s features such as inlaid artwork on exposed ceiling beams, pictorial ceramic tile, and slate roof.

Adults and children 12 and older are invited to enjoy The Oaks’ amenities. The hotel features ten newly-refurbished guestrooms, each with a full, private bath. Every room is uniquely decorated and furnished, with accommodations that include king-sized, queen, twin, and handicapped-accessible room arrangements.

There are comfortable entertainment lounges on each of the two stories of the guest quarters, and the main floor offers a spacious living room, dining room, professional kitchen, and inviting outdoor patio. For families and visitors, there is also a spacious recreation room with wide-screen television, entertainment seating, wet bar, pool table, and powder room. Internet access is also available
