Hacienda Vargas is located BETWEEN Albuquerque and Santa Fe in the village of Algodones along the original El Camino Real (the Royal Highway, the historic route linking Mexico City and Santa Fe. It is one of the oldes thorough fares in the United States and in the 20th century continued to serve as a main highway by its designation as U.S. Route 66.We are the perfect place to have as your base while you enjoy all the surrounding sights. Just 15 minutes from Albuquerque, 20 from the airport, 30 from Santa Fe, we are perfect for a different day trip each day.
Originally a stage coach stop until 1888, the adobe buildings were structurally updated in 1990 and slowly converted into a Bed and Breakfast Inn. All 7 rooms have private entrances, private bathrooms (some with old fashioned claw-foot tubs, some with jacuzzi (even double) tubs, and fireplaces. All rooms are furnished with antiques and are full of secrets of the past!
We offer a full and delicious breakfast each morning and can provide box lunches and candelight dinners by reservation.
