During the winter there is great down hill skiing at Mount Ascutney (20 minutes), Okemo (30 minutes and Mount Sunapee (45 minutes) driving from The Dutch Treat. For cross country skiers there is a wonderful groomed set of trails at Grafton Ponds in Vermont (40 minutes).

Between 5 and 6pm all guests are invited to the hospitality suite where your hosts serve refreshments with a selection of Dutch and New England cheeses. There will be menus to look into from a dozen restaurants in the immediate area. Maps plus descriptions of walking tours around the historic district, and places to cross country or downhill ski are there for your review.
